Intel Corp. targeted in scratch card scam
The multinational company Intel is afraid that their reputation is damaged by an unknown group that seems to operate from Nagpur India. The leading company in the field of technology is still searching for the brain behind the scratch cards scam.
Last month businessman Ahmar Khan could not believe his luck when he discovered that he had won a motorcycle in a contest held by “Intel”. While driving outside a popular mall, Khan received a free scratch card, by a man who approached his car.
“When is scratched open the scratch card, I discovered that I had a Honda Activa two from Intel as part of their Smart PC Contest 2011. I called the helpline number that was listed on the back of the scratch card and I was congratulated, a company representative told me that within a few weeks to would contact me. A few weeks later I tried calling, but I found out that the number was disconnected. I got in touch with Intel through their website and they denied that they had organized such a scratch card contest” said Khan.
A spokesman for Intel, stated: “We have no competition organized as stated on the scratch card, in fact we have never had a contest where we used scratch cards. We organize most activities only for partners and regular customers. We have the case registered by the Nagpur India police and they are still investigating the matter.
